Swingset!

This is what we did with Steve's day off Monday - stimulated the economy. :)

Snow Day

Stevie had the day off today, due to ice, snow, and 20mph winds. Yay! He got to cook breakfast and dinner and finished his homework TWO DAYS EARLY! Plus, Mary decided that she'd rather be walking than crawling. She's not very steady but she's trying. Yay! :)

What happens when I'm busy somewhere else

I was washing the dishes when Mary decided to empty Anna's clothes cabinet. How sweet! Did she know I wanted to rearrange those clothes today? What a smart little person! :)

Friday - Stevie Day!

Mission 1 - Get out & finish errands early - not accomplished, due to suddenly napping baby. Plan B enacted.
Plan B - Clean breakfast mess - done.
             Laundry - done.
Make Anna paint-free & dressed - in process. (She paints while I'm putting Mary down for naps. She tends to do a "whole-body" style of painting, rather than being restricted to the more traditional methods, like brushes.
             Clean girls' room - upcoming.

Mary's discovered 'hot' - though it comes out as 'ah!' - and she's learned how to blow, so now she blows on all her food. This morning, she held her hand out to the cereal bowl (at a safe distance! it may be hot!) and said, "Ah! Ah!". Then she blew on it. Last night, she blew on Steve's soda. Cute, cute.

The heart (or stomach) of a baby

Steve bought some t-bones at the dairy yesterday and cooked supper last night. (He had the day off for MLK Day.) While he was cooking, Mary kept getting under is feet and giving him the "pick me up" sign. He couldn't pick her up & was worried about stepping on her, so he asked me to take her. I said, "Aw, she wants to be with you, that's so sweet!" He told me, "No, I think she just wants to be near the food." I assured him that this wasn't so, that his tiniest daughter wanted to spend time with her daddy. Then, to prove it, I picked her up & held her close to him near the stove . . . at which point, she pointed to the sautéing mushrooms and said, "Mmmmm!" So much for tenderness!

Anna with the camera

I usually put it where she can't reach it. Guess I forgot this day. :)

Daddy/Daughter Pizza!

Steve and Anna made a pizza. Green peppers, mushrooms, cheddar/mozzarella blend, a jar of spaghetti sauce, and some leftover New Year's ham. We made the crust in the bread machine. Yum!

Apples

This is fake. She's never liked apples.

This is real. She rarely turns down food.

Merry Christmas!

Supper! Turkey, excellent stuffing, mashed 'taters, asparagus, cranberry sauce, salad, and sparkling grape juice.
I wanted to include a picture of the girls in their new outfits, sewn by Granma Ellen, but Anna woke up sick this morning. We wonder if it's from too much Christmas candy & too many late nights (her bedtime's shifted to around 11 lately - we're working to get it back).

Happy Birthday, Mary!

I don't know why the photos lined up the way they did, but here you go. :) When Mary sees something she likes to eat she says, "Mmmmmm!" There was a lot of "mmmming" today.

Picture & Quote of the Day (or week, if we're busy)

On the way home from church, Anna was singing, "Go tell it on the mountain, I'm the one who's in trouble!" (At least, that's what it sounded like. )

Just me & the girls, taking a break on the porch on an over-100 degree day. Taken with my cell phone.
