Chia Shrek, Day 1

We've never had a Chia Pet before. Good thing Anna's seen the Shrek movies, or I guess we'd have to go buy them. :)

Merry Christmas!

Supper! Turkey, excellent stuffing, mashed 'taters, asparagus, cranberry sauce, salad, and sparkling grape juice.
I wanted to include a picture of the girls in their new outfits, sewn by Granma Ellen, but Anna woke up sick this morning. We wonder if it's from too much Christmas candy & too many late nights (her bedtime's shifted to around 11 lately - we're working to get it back).

Happy Birthday, Mary!

I don't know why the photos lined up the way they did, but here you go. :) When Mary sees something she likes to eat she says, "Mmmmmm!" There was a lot of "mmmming" today.

Picture & Quote of the Day (or week, if we're busy)

On the way home from church, Anna was singing, "Go tell it on the mountain, I'm the one who's in trouble!" (At least, that's what it sounded like. )

A tale of two Spaghettis

The top one is Mary, Sep 7, 2010. The bottom one is Anna, Sep 8, 2008. I don't know what it is about us & September & spaghetti.

Happy Girls

Not only has Anna not worn diapers since the week of the 19th ('cept pull-ups to bed & church), but she hasn't had an accident for a few days now. Yay for her!! Plus, her teacher said she was a very good girl in Sunday School today. (She actually used the word "perfect", but we don't want to get big heads.)

Mary is *almost* crawling. She's very good at dragging herself around. Hard on the clothes; fun for the baby.

Where IS that river?!

The girls & I went for a walk in the woods at the park today. I did it partly because Anna's been wanting to go down there (it's all downhill from the playground) and partly because I wanted to see the Appomattox River, which is out there...somewhere. By the time we found it - 45 minutes into the walk, on a day when the heat index reached at least 108 - we only got to hang around five minutes or so before Mary's "cranky switch" flipped. There wasn't any place for me to sit & feed her, so we had to walk up to the picnic pavilion, which is about ten minutes up the hill, with a cranky baby, a cranky mommy, and a toddler who just wanted to enjoy the river & play with our water bottle. Well, they have to learn repentance from someone - might as well be me. At least the river was pretty. :)
